Driver seat adjustment

Well the car is a week away from an MOT so I'm trying to address any niggles to get her up to scratch. One which actually might cause a fail is the driver seat. Once in place its fine but if I try and adjust the seat forward or back it struggles to 'lock' back into place, a lot of bouncing up and down whilst pulling the height adjustment gets it fixed in place.

Any ideas what could cause this? Has anyone come across the issue before?

Check the nylon guide is in place on the seat runner jimbo. They have a habit of dissapearing or wearing out.
