Split handbrake cable rubber boot
Split handbrake cable rubber boot
Can anyone suggest where I can get replacement rubber boots for the caliper end of the handbrake cables (the ones that cover the exposed section of cable)? Mine have split - I don't think they have let in water yet but I don't want to have to replace the cables when they go rusty just because of a split rubber boot. They look like the sort you get on mountain bike V-brakes, if you can't get VW originals without buying a whole new cable would one for a bike be a suitable replacement?

You cant get them seperately, though yes, they are very similar to a bike one.
The problem is they clip over the mounting of the handbrake cable so really, its a replacement job.

Thanks Alex. I've just filled the boot up with white grease in the hope of keeping water out.
