Help needed asap please desperate

Post by Deano1 »

Hi all my first post here after being told to join I have a 2000 w reg polo 1.4 16v and I'm getting fault code p1553 barometric/manifold pressure not plausible

After taking advice I've changed

Egr valve
Map sensor
Throttle body (set up as well )
Checked all vacuum pipes (replaced brake servo pipe due to cracks )
Checked timing (all spot on )
Coil pack
Blew out all pipes going to purge valve /canister etc

The problem I'm getting is the epc light comes on when driving if I hold a constant speed and it goes a bit jerkey turn key off and on and it's sorted again until I stick to a constant speed again it's ok accellarating and slowing just seems to be when staying at a constant speed .

Really am stumped what to try next

Are you getting any other faulty codes?

This is normally caused by a dirty throttle body. Has it been thoroughly cleaned on both sides and adaptation performed?

Was the map sensor new?

Not plausible sounds like the signal isnt getting rear properly from the sensor. Implies broken wiring or a dodgy sensor.
