Hi all im posting hoping someone can help me.
I recently bought a 2001 vw polo (6n2) but i have one big problem . It kept on dying. At first i was told alternator so fitted a new one along with brand new battery. This seemed to have worked but not for long. The battery light stayed on even after fitting new battery and the other day on my way home yep she died and wouldnt restart . Does anybody know or have an idea as to what else the problem could be? Cheers 4 reading

Re: My 6n2
Do you have a meter to check the voltage at the battery when the engine is off and then when running ?
Battery should be 12-12.6v depending on charge, engine running should show 13.5v+
If there's no output from the alternator, check the condition of the cable from the alternator to the battery, engine earth leads and the main fuses on top of the battery. Last one is the first choice to do, cheap to simply replace them too.
