Petrol leak when engine running

2001 999L Polo Petrol is leaking from the top of the left petrol tank (rear passenger side)only when the engine is running. I thought it was the fuel pump but I removed the cover and didn't see any leaking from the hoses. Its hard to get a good look from underneath but it looks like its leaking from the top of the rear of the left side of the tank. Could it be leaking from the fuel line above? Any ideas?
