Help for a sad polo :(

Post by legewright »

Hi guys

This is my first car and I’m still learning the basics. I’d really appreciate your advice. I left my car undriven for a few months (a mistake I know) and it wouldnt start after that. Turning over the ignition would allow for the lights to come on but no engine start.

I sourced some jumper cables from a neighbour a few days later, but now the car is completely dead (no horn, lights etc.) we connected the cars and got some life (dash lights etc.) and left the healthy car running for 10 mins. Still no engine start! We tried revving a few times but that also didn’t work.

Is there anything I should try before I go out and spend money on a new battery?

Thanks a lot
Jay

If the battery is completely dead, even a jump wont help you

I would look at a new battery and go from there
