Hi, I'm looking to fit a new aftermarket single DIN stereo in my 9n3 (factory one keeps skipping tracks on CD). I've found this adapter kit on eBay but I'm slightly confused. Is it as simple as removing the leads and connecting them up? It says something about having to connect up a red wire on the harness adapter to the ignition supply, is this necessary for this car or are there alternative adaptors?

Yes simple as that
You can feed the live wire to any 12V ignition feed
There are more intelligent adapters which are can bus enabled but around 30-40 instead
