exhaust gaskets

Post by dub envy »

Bought a de-cat downpipe from Dan (hardhitter) on the weekend and am planning to fit it maybe Tuesday evening.

I only replaced the manifold to downpipe gasket 2 weeks ago and was wondering wether I need to replace it or not after such a short time.

Are they knackered after using them once, or will I be ok re-using it?

I know I'm being tight, but payday isn't til next week, and I spent more than I should at the Polo Show!!

I'd always replace the gasket if the engine has been running at optimum temperature, even if only for a short period of time.

Would be interested to know if you got away with this though?

No, the gasket should be fine.
