Head Swap

Post by jaymz »

Here is the problem. I have a 1993 (MkIII?) Polo Fox Coupe 1043cc which looks like it may have a cracked head. I also have a 1989 (MkII?) Polo C 1043cc with a good engine. Does anyone know if the head can be taken out of the '89 Polo C and put into the '93 Polo without major modifications?

I get you now. I know the older one has 3 bolts but I can't remember about the newer one. Hopefully it will be the same.

Thanks for your help.

its no problem mate im always willing to help a fellow polo owner. like im doing all this weekend, stripping 1 polo and rebuilding another with my mate dispy(mk1)pete
if the older 1 has the 3 bolts on the rocker cover you have no problems then as the new will have too.
