Gti - what engine fits?
Gti - what engine fits?
Turns out that my engines knackered an it needs a new one. What would be my best bet in replacing it? How much would a 1.8t conversion cost and what else would be needed. I can't really afford to spend too much on it -just spent £750 on a new clutch and box rebuild. What engine would fit and how much would I be looking? Need to get it sorted for as cheap as poss. Asap. Cheers

The search button is your friend, dont be afraid of it. lol. Seriously not worth it, to get it done right it'll cost 2500-3500 and some insurance companys refuse to cover and others require a special MOT to be carried out adding extra cost.
If your still interested youl'll need from donor car: engine, box, loom, ecu.
custom drive shafts
uprated brakes.
Anyone add something i missed.

Haha that's wayyy out of my league
think I'm gonna have to find a cheaper option. Is the standard GTI engine the only one that goes straight in?

TBH mate your best option is to sell the polo (if it's the 6n2) you can get bout 2400 for it, then buy ibiza 1.8t cupra. Admitedly that doesn't help. Sorry
