EPC and Engine warning light

Hi all,

I have a Y reg 1.4 16v 6N2 polo and whenever I run it, both the engine warning light and the EPC light come on. The EPC light goes off when i turn the ignition off but comes on again when i start it, being a bit of a pain.

Does anyone know how to fix it or what it could be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Would be best to get the car scammed with a fault code reader or vag.com. Ive just got rid of my EPC light and it turned out to be the brake light switch on top of the pedal, very easy to change .seems to be a common EPC fault.

Hi chris, thanks for the help and info, had the car scanned with VAGcom and the engine check and EPC light are related to a fault on the manifold pressure sensor. I also had the ABS light which came up when testing it which was a fault with the speed sensor on the rear wheel.
