Catalytic Converter - VAGCOM

Post by bewsh »

The car is 2001 6n2 1.4 8v AUD engine. I have the CEL coming on every so often, I clear it and it comes back about 50 miles later, here's the readings I have received:

Each time I have cleared the codes and the above is what has re-appeared. Obviously the first one is showing a fault with the first lambda sensor, but ever since I cleared that, it hasn't come back. Then the 2nd and 3rd times the CEL has come on, its indicating possibly a faulty cat or lambda sensor?

I believe this car has 2 catalytic converters, one on the manifold and one in line? If it's the cat, how do I know which one is at fault? Has anyone else experienced this fault? Could it just be a faulty lambda sensor throwing off the readings which is telling the ecu that the cat isn't preforming? How much am I looking at to get the cat replaced if it is at fault?

Any help, is greatly appreciated!
