Hi Guys,

Been trying to squeeze every last drop of extra power from my 1.4 16v.

Been looking at exhaust manifolds and these 2 keep coming up.

From past experiences the 4-2-1 setups seem to be better for low-mid range and the 4-1 are better top end.

Anyone got any experience with either or suggestions on what else I should be looking at?

Most people go for the raceland 4-2-1 which is a good fit on these engines

Thanks Alex.

That's the one I'm leaning towards, with a resonated Sportex cat-back system.

I'm getting too old for a non-res and there's noise limits at track days to keep in mind.

That would be a winning combination. I had a non-res on my Edition 30. Boy was it loud!!

My old Clio 172 had a similar setup, oem Renaultsport 4-2-1 manifold, decat and resonated Sportex cat back.
Sounded spot on, not too loud and a nice note.

Hoping this setup works out similar :D

Have you got the 75 or 100bhp 1.4?

it's the 75bhp with a GTI inlet manifold, GTI throttle body, BMC CDA induction kit and silicone HT leads.
Should be fitting a set of polybushed wishbones this weekend and it's sat on 40mm springs.

Just sent a guy on FB a message about some solid top mounts aswell.

Very nice. A 4-2-1 will help a little then
