bodyside mouldings

this has probably been posted countless times before, but as i'm a newbie i thought i'd ask. how are the mouldings fixed to the outside of the car just below the waistline?

depends which polo your on about.

the mk4 is glued on so if u take them of its fine.

the mk5 has glue and holes which would need welding if u removed them.

HELP! Whats the secret to getting off the glue residue left on after removing!!?

im not totally sure but i believe people were saying about using some sort of plastic card like a credit card or plastic filler knife for body filler and using something like some sort of tar remover or s omething u can get from halfords.... dont quote me on it tho but i tink its something like that.
