Had A Go At Polishing Pepperpots - Before & After

Post by NathanG »

I had a spare set of Audi Pepperpots hanging around the garage and thought to myself at 3.00 today, I think I'm going to have a go at polishing them. They dont owe me anything (came with the car), plus, I hate them (ideally want to swap them & the Audi wheels i have now with new tyres and adaptors for some RX II's). Quick trip to Halfrauds at 3.30 to get some Autosol and at 4.00 i started.

Sorry about the crap pics

This was how they started.

And after 2 and a bit hours.

Their not the best I know but just imagine what they'd look like if i actually made some effort with them. 1 thing I realised is that you need to go slow and not bollock along, if you do you'll only end up going back to get scratches out (like I need to). I'm not concerned about the centers as they will be sprayed Anthracite or something simular, I just wanted the lip and little dish polished. Comments welcome good or bad I dont mind as I do not care for these wheels 1 bit and just wanted to see if I could do it and how hard it is.

They actually look a lot better than in the pics. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

You have done a grand job there matey. I have a set similar to yours with the wee lip. mines are in need of the same treatment.....
What sorta sand papers and polish did ya use? just to give me some idea on where to begin.

@NathanG
if you don't care for them, are you willing to sell?

I fully polished a set of pepper pots not long ago. Took ages though :wink:
