VW want an hours labour to change my steering wheel weight! :?

We might have to meet at some stage and I'll pay you instead of (£60)? to VW. Do you know the code for weight adjustment?

Wouldnt tweaking around the computer module of the car invalidate your warranty?? :? :?:

i wouldn't think little things like changing the weight of the power steering, and activating alarm bleeps will, but more complicated stuff will.

Rooboy, how come it won't let you into the module? You are trying to get into Adaptation, aren't you?

Steering weight is well worth it...change it to 151 and you'll be amazed at how much more feel you get from the steering.

So the rule is once you put it to GTI setting, it's light at low speeds but heavy at high speeds and feels more stable?

Nope, its harder at any speed. You can still use the power steering though!

It's not a GTI setting. "Sport" is 121 and came standard on my car. It really is rubbish. Us SEAT boys have tried everything and foung 151 the best.

Okay I sound thick here but 151 is the hardest?

I thought it was 1-5 (1 being the lightest). I guess it's different on VAG-COM

No, i'm trying to get in to module 46 (cent conv) it wont let me in to even get to adaptation. The car was going in to the dealers for it as an alarm fault, but it will now be done sooner as i crashed (slightly) on my way to work this morning.

On uk-mkivs one of the forum members works for Ross-Tech (maker of VAG-COM) and suggested a cold boot so if the dealer cannot do it i may give it a try.

Ross' car looks much better in the metal than in the pictures eh!
