6N2 GTI door lock question

I'm currently trying to resolve a central locking issue on my son's 6N2 GTI, the Haynes manual shows a four wire "main wiring connector" (page 11.10, pic 13.12b for those who have it) at the bottom of the lock, but the car only has three wires going to the top on the lock above the slot where the key is connected

wiring diagram 8 only shows three wires going to the "driver's central locking switch", is the photo misleading and am I stressing over nothing?

Dont always trust the haynes manuals - they are often misleading

What the issue its having?

central locking not responding to the key button, front windows winding down when the key is used in the driver's door

I've got a new vacuum pump and driver's door lock to fit, but wanted to clarify the wiring question before buttoning up the door cards

P.S. a Mk3 Golf vacuum pump works fine in a 6N Polo. but not a 6N2 apparently

Presumably the key in door just operates that lock no other doors?

The fact the windows are working on the key implies its likely a pump fault. Its so common on these cars its a joke!
