Problem starting 2007 TDI

Hi,can anyone please help?
I have a 2007 1.4 S Tdi polo.
I have intermittent problems when starting my polo. Sometimes -around 1-2 a week whe I turn ignition the last part of the turn of the key switches off all of the dash display and the car is completely dead???
My garage diagnostics have found nothing wrong,had battery replaced and on one occasion had an eps earth fault repaired.
The problem is still occurring !!!!!!!
Now and again the eps light still lights up (Amber)
And the just disappears???
Are these two problems connected?
Any ideas anyone?
