Hi,
Im new here, 6n2 1.4 16v owner from France.
First of all, don't blame me for poor english, doing my best.
I will present my 6n2 asap in the right section.
Here we have a french similar forum so i will copy/paste my main subject to present my car.

Looking for advices about 6n2 gti xenon headlight work:

Bought today a pair of xenon from a crashed gti.

Everything on the headlight works, but the main headlight body is damaged. All 3 fixations are broken, and majors rifts make them dead and unusable.
As you can see above, i worked on disasembling them in order to find a way to use them.

So question is simple, and need advices.
Is it possible, maybe with work of adaptation, to swap everything, bulb, reflectors, ballast, height setting and servo inside of a standard Hella headlight body?
Looking for a solution because here in France gti are pretty rare, as well as spare parts, and especially xenon headlights, wich can get crazy prices on second hand market, like 400 euros for a pair...

The back plate isnt interchangeable and the D2S bulb and housing is deeper than the H7 unit can take

There are repair kits available however to repair the mounts if they are broken so you should be able to save the existing xenon units quite easily.

I know repair kit are available, but as i said, both body are very damaged, rifts, height setting demolished. I wont be able to repair it being a crap of a puzzle with missing pieces.

Its possible you could modify the back, but ive never seen it done. Maybe get a broken standard headlight to test with

Okay, so just got a standard headlight to test with.
It doesn't work, height setting is different, and anyway there are no space to fit it, the wire plug on gti headlight body is deeper.
