Revs slow to drop

Post by Ieuan96 »

Morning recently I have been having issues with my revs not dropping or slow to drop.
I have taken it to vw and they said it’s a charging error.
I have changed the battery.
Both the battery and the alternator are putting out 14v which is normal.
Any ideas??? Really bugging me now.

Interior lights flicker is normal as the power steering pump is electric

Have you got aircon? Turn it off and see if the problem goes away

Yep done that all off.
That’s what I sounds like tho if the aircon is running making the revs slow to drop.

Your alternator might be struggling under load. Just because it provides 14V doesnt mean its working properly

I will get someone to check it for me.
There’s is a running noise when the revs are high could be alternator belt or something like that!
