I have to admit to lurking in these forums for sometime, but I am now an official 9n3 owner
Last year I was driving my Granny's 1991 bread van:

But things were getting too expensive- 19mpg on the Jeep and 44mpg on the Polo, plus 2 lots of tax and insurance, so I decided to spend a bit of cash and bought this last week:
Since I've got it I've replaced the steel wheels with alloys (from eBay) and I've also plastidipped the front facia, which I love the look of (BTW, plastidip is AMAZING, google it if you've not come across it). Strangely when I bought it it already had a GTI type honeycomb grille with the badge removed, so to cover the part where the badge clips to I popped a TDI badge on there. Here are the pics I took today:
I already love it, and it's already saving me tons of cash- with the second fill I calculate 53 mpg- I hope to improve on this with Granddad stele driving
I'll miss the space I had with my 4x4 (and winter-ability) but it's just not worth the ridiculous 300 miles per £95 petrol, and astronomical servicing cost.
