1 Litre polo as a first car

Hi , I am looking to buy a polo as my first car, I have a budget of approx £1000, can anyone suggest what to expect for the money and possible probs to look out for. Cheers

My guess is that £1000 is plenty of money for a MKI or a MKII (if you have posted in the right section) in excellent condition. If you haven't done so, I would look at ebay just for getting some ideas on actual prices.

Do you want a mk1 or Mk2? £1000 will get you a very good Mk1/2 and a bloody good Mk3 also. You will be able to get a Mk4 1Ltr in pretty good condition or working order, I paid £750 for mine and thats a 1.4CL.

Hi, I have a Polo 1 litre at the minute and love it as my 1st car, i paid 750 for mine, its in mint condition, on 69 on the clock, amazing on fuel. I know a 1 litre sounds bad, but it has some kick to it! Have a look on ebay but you might get taken on, also look on auto trader. But my advice take someone with you who knows about VW, just to confirm everything, incase you get a cut n shut job...!
