engine and gearbox

hey people.
Just wondering what engine and gearbox would fit in to mk2/3 polo without minimal fuss and cash (hard i no), im looking to make it more powerful as its only a 1litre

both should bolt straight in, then all you have to do is sort wiring

the mk3(2f) gt or g40. the mk3 golf 1.4 with a bit more work but will make the front end of the car a bit heavy. or a mk4 (6N) 1.4 16v engine will go in.There is very little difference in the gear boxes!It just depends on how much money and mechanical knowledge u have.I have even seen a mk2 golf gti engine in one but would be alot of work.
