help setting up a carb

Hiya, I've got a mk2 1.3 coupe s and its got a 1.6 weber carb on it, its not set up right so need some advice. It will run fine for about half an hour sat on the spot, but soon as I actually come to drive it it starts cutting out, then won't turn over. It's getting enough fuel coz I can smell it and Ive cleaned all the jets out so they're not blocked. Just wondering if anyone has a diagram or any advice as to how it should be set up
