Choke advice

Post by Everlasting Vehicle »

Hello! My dear old 1991 Polo is struggling and I think it's the choke. Starts cold but needs LOADS of revs to keep going until engine is warm. Often cuts out in first few minutes. Idle speed is OK. Have squirted carb cleaner in and recent warm weather has improved things too. What do you think? Where can I find a manual choke and do I need a converter kit? Are they expensive and do I need to find a specialist to install it? Help and advice much appreciated.

Might get a bit more help on this over at ClubPolo, they seem to love the older models a bit more over there.

I'm having the same issue now! Did you resolve it in the end?
