Saw this ad at work...what do you think?

Post by Lucretia »

Seat ibiza,1.4,5 door,04 plate,black,32000 miles,new manufactors engine
fitted 1000 miles ago,1 previous owner,air con,remote
c.locking,f,fogs,p.a.s,e.windows,6 months mot 4 months tax.£3250
The things that make me a little suspicious are the new engine and the 1 previous owner and it's only 4 years old. Am I right to think this might just well be a complete lemon?

Thanks,
Luke.

well you never know to be honest, best bet is to go take a look & see what paperwork he has on the new engine etc.. & why it was replaced, just take a really good look round it, make sure all the panels match up etc..

I've heard of a few ibizas throwing rods by sucking up water, (using an aftermarket air filter & feed pipe) so it might be a gem!

yeah, seems odd to see a 32,000 mile car with a new engine but these things do happen, and its probably wasn't the fault of the driver.
Best bet is to do what Shanty said and go look at the thing, you can always say no, but make sure there is all the paperwork for the engine change and services etc
