Kiogen's Ibiza SC

Post by Kiogen »

Hi, im new in the forum but have been watching for quite a while now, especially because the Polo guys are crazy with the mods.
I own an 2010 Ibiza SC 2.0 CRTDI and im trying to change a few things in it.
i dont have many pictures of it at the moment but as soon as i can i will post a few more.
i plan to mod it quite a bit but for that i will require some help from you guys.

OEM data:
Black Magic paint
Leather seats with red stitching and heated front seats
Full FR package
Bi-Xenon headlights with AFS
Auto dimming mirror
Rain and Light Sensor(light sensor is not activated from factory it only came as a package)
Heated screen washers
Folding mirros
ESP,Alarm,Hill control, rear parking assist,etc...

Mods:
Lowering- Done using Bilstein B12

Jet Screen washer: 5M0955986C 9B9

Planned mods:
Glove Box light: Still to fit, already have the parts
Audi A1 airvents: my current ones look like cup holders
Red Seatbelts: Still to fit, already have the parts
Xenon with black background
Black interior trim: still collecting parts
AERO kit: spoiler and side skirts
Auto-folding mirrors when locking un-folding with ignition
Rain closing
Auto-Headlights
Cluster lights permanently lit

Planned Performance mods:
DPF removal (only if brings me problems)
EGR removal (only if brings me problems)

And as suggested by Ciclo here are the pictures of my relay box and fuse box layout:

Welcome (again). :)
Nice FR, it has to be a rocket with that engine. (not available in Polo 6R   )

I subscribe to this topic, I think we will have a good time here.

You should keep in mind that my way of proceeding will be for you to make a complete wiring loom. With the aim of having all the wires organized in a same loom.

Well, it is fun but sometimes i want more power, it "only" goes till 200km/h, it's locked electronically.
It does a bit of torque steer when pushed hard, bit it can be improved with VCDS locking a bit more the XDS and giving it a stronger wheel setting as you have done on yours.

When i started i wanted everything as OEM as possible, and i wanted to have all the wiring inside the original wrapping, like it was factory fitted, now i understand that it is impossible and an suplemmentary wiring is the way to go, and i can live with that. 8)

So, my journey to get automatic headlights is on its way and i've crossed the wiring of 4 different base equipments so far.

Here is the image of what i've done:
Image

and here is the finished work:
Image
Image
Image

I've seen that i have to delete some bridges and two relays?? then i must add another full hand of cables to the proper places, i'll study it deeper when i can, just leaving the info here if someone can get me a hand i would be very grateful.

i think that the 133vs134 is not correct because i get confused with all the Start/Stop System and what it adds to the car, so on the 191vs192 i left it all intact, therefor i know that i haven't deleted nothing important to reach the goal

If someone is interested in getting the LED plate lights i must add that to get them to work i've changed the polarity on the plug, i dont know if now i have to change it again because with the auto headlights the plate lights are controled by the BCM and not with fuse like it is now...

When i finish the wiring and install it i'ill tell if it needs any change 8)

Yes, for the license plate lights (LED) you will have to replace the wires as original, now the power signal will be direct from the new BCM.

This week I am extremely busy, but I will download the diagrams you have made to take a look at them.
Or maybe I'll prepare some new diagrams (with before and after) for your Ibiza SC (a bit special in wiring configuration).

Please do not delete any information that you have published, it will facilitate the checks that I will make. Thanks.

Just posting the new made, chapter 133vs134, this time i left the Start/Stop system there to get less troubles with missing information, just by doing this i already seen some changes that i will have to make, and i have seen that i will have to cross this one with the xenon chapter(166 or 167) to see all the wires that i have to add. :D

Image

Thank you Ciclo for your help, if you don't have time i understand and i will do my best to try to solve it by myself, i will be posting my own conclusions and if you pass your eyes in them i know that you will find my mistakes. 8)

7H0937089D Z0H
7H0937089F Z0E
7H0937089F Z3E
7H0937089F Z3W
7H0937089H Z08

This is one of the BCMs that you must buy (according to ETKA). Any of them.

I have already reviewed all the diagrams, for me it is clear how all wiring installation should be, the problem is how I explain it to you without having made diagrams. :) (Requires time as you already know).

This week (casually and specially) I have a lot of work, and I do not have enough time to do the diagrams.
Actually, the process is quite simple and similar as for the Polo 6R. (in my mind at least)
Most of the wires end up installed as for the Polo 6R and other models belonging to the PQ25 platform. The problem or advantage from the Ibiza 6J is that there is (exist) a light switch with the AUTO position (this does not happen in all other models).

To begin you will have to disassemble these three relays forever (image bellow). Its functions are managed by the new BCM due to the new wires configuration, only and exclusively when you are installing the new electrical installation, logically. This is part of the wiring adaptation to the new BCM Max.
Image

I hope to have some more time next week to make your diagrams.

WOW! now i just lost myself with the diagrams :(, you say that i need to remove the relays but i've been comparing the Chapter 133(supposedly mine) with the 191(supposedly with auto headlights) and it has both relays but with connections to the new BCM. :? i may be doing something wrong or maybe is just the lack of knowlege but in my mind i was thinking that it didn't need to do that.

I think that i have time to check a few things and maybe try to do a full diagram, will post it for you when done.
Image

By doing it you can also see if im getting my ideas right.

Someone had the great idea to put the same name to a relay with a similar but not equal functions.
Do not worry, these and other things are common in Elsawin. :)

This is your relay J828 (chapter 166). IBIZA SC model year 'B' Bixenon Headlights with BCM High (not Max) from factory.

Image

The relay J828 from diagram that you show is not possible in your 6J SC because a BCM Max would be needed. And you have a BCM High from the factory (without T73a/1 pin, etc...)

---

1 BCM wiring adaptation

- Low Beam, High Beam and DRL's you have to convert your original wiring from chapter 166 to the wiring of chapter 167.
Blinkers (turn signals) and Parking/side lights you don't have to do anything.

- (Rest of lights) License plate, Rear fog, Dimmer and Reverse: you have to convert your original wiring (lights only) from chapter 133 to the wiring of chapter 134. (easier to understand than using Chapter 191)

2 Automatic lights + CH/LH (through BCM Max)

- Use chapter 192 in reference to relay J828 and the light switch. (192/8, 192/9)

---

If you do exactly this, everything will work like a charm on your 6J.

---
Some help :)

Image
And put the electric bridge on the J331 relay adapter.

 6J IBIZA - SC 57,58 = 6R POLO - SB 39,59

DRLs

Really nice to know that... it does help me a lot...

I do understand that the diagram that i posted is not from my model, i was thinking is that it belongs to a model with auto headlights, therefor as it have the same relay as mine it wasn't needed to be removed, but getting a new BCM isn't the starting point for me??

With a BCM 7H0 937 089F(for example) i would have available pin T73a/1 which is the one that connects to J828...

I appreciate your time with my problems and i'm sorry to be asking so many questions but i just want to get clear answers so i can get peace of mind to start butchering my car wiring :D

----Edit----
I haven't take a good look at your diagrams and explanation yet, but from at I've seen it isn't that hard do do. But I'm still not fully aware so will dig it a bit further to see if I can reach the same conclusion as you.

Maybe in the weekend I can do a bit of research and make a final diagram.

So there is two relays named J828 in one car or is because of the different specs?
I will have one J828 according to your explanations but in the fuse picture you state that I should remove all three :?

Honestly I consider myself as a smart handy guy but with this my mind is just blocked, perhaps im just missing the "click" and then it all gets clear.

You must use +30 power to feed the new J828 relay, in Elsawin diagrams (chapter 192) this new relay is powered by +15.

-------------

To understand the diagrams it is also necessary to know how your new BCM Max will work when coded correctly. :)

I haven't quite understood the new relay yet, the others i thing that everything is correct.

Why do i have to follow chapeter 192 insted of 167 in this case? do i really need a new J828? what is his function?

What is the third relay that you want me to remove? Am i missing something?

I've been studying the wirings and these are the conclusions that i took:

-----Headlights-----
--Low beam--
-OEM
A40 to T10m/32(j331)
T10m/52(j331) to A9
A9 to SC57a, SC58a
SC57b to T14b/6
SC58b to T15a/6

-AUTO
A40 to B169
B169 connects to SC57a and SC58a
SC57b to T73a/63.T73b/2 to T14b/6
SC58b to T73b/68.T73a/2 to T14a/6

--High beam--
-OEM
T41/39 to B141
B141 to SC36a, SC37a and T10d/1(J828)
SC36b to T14b/11
Sc37b to A95
A95 to T14a/11 and T32/14

-AUTO
T41/39 to SC36a
SC36b to A223
A223 to T73a/62, T14a/11, T14b/11 and T32/14

B141+A95 almost same as A223, it gets diffrent fuses for different lamps as if factory fitted it only gets one fuse for both.

T17/7 triggers J331 if it has power, so T17/7 is light on, triggering J331 lighting up the xenon low beam.
T41/39 triggers J828 that will trigger J331 feeding A40 to A9 and that lights up the xenon high beam if light are off.
T41/39 is High beam contoller only, it trigers the relays and V294 and V295, xenon high beam "motors".

If J331 is removed and bridge between T10m/32 and T10m/52 forms B169? So A9=B169
Because J331 is not present T10d/3(j828) wil not get power anywhere, so T17/7 to T10d/4 is not necessary also T10d/1 is not necessary.
B169 to T10d/5 same. J828 may be removed. what happens to T17/7?

-----DRL-----
-OEM
T17/3 to A83
A83 to SF16a and SF17a
SF16b to T14a/12
SF17b to T14b/12

-AUTO
T73b/3 to T14a/12
T73a/5 to T14b/12

May connect SF16a to T73b/3 and SF17a to T73a/5
T17/3 should be removed?

-----Rear Fog-----
-OEM
T17/9 to SC7a
SC7b to A88
A88 to T6d/6 and T32/13

-AUTO
T17/9 to T73b/43
T73a/6 to A88

May connect T73a/6 to SC7b, and T73b/43 to SC7a but have to remove the fuse.
or can do T73a/6 to SC7a and direct wire between T17/9 and T73b/43 (less danger)and this way A88 is fused

-----Reverse-----
-OEM
T73b/48 to A87
A87 to B182
B182 to T6e/4

-AUTO
Bridge between A87 to B182 removed
T73b/12 to B182

-----Dimmer-----
-OEM
T73a/45 to SC17a and T17/16
SC17b to T6f/3

-AUTO
T73b/1 to T6f/3

Remove wire from SC17b and do as AUTO indicates

-----Plate light-----
-OEM
T73a/45 to SC17a and T17/16
SC17b to W2(double light)

-AUTO
T73b/7 to W2(double light)

Remove wires from SC17b and do as AUTO indicates
I may remove SC17a wires and solder both to get direct connection to T73a/45 and T17/16 and can pass wire T73b/7 to SC17b and it gets fused.

-----
Apart from this i must change T17/16 to T17/13 and T73a/37 must connect to T17/12 and T17/16
That i already have done.

If factory fitted with BCM Max the plate light, rear fog and drl are not fused?

I will do diagram charts when everything is correct just to make it clear for anyone else.

New Update
Spent my late afternoon doing some diagrams to compare between each parts that will suffer modifications and can't find the T73b/29 in any of the Ibiza diagrams.
the only one that i haven't done is the main one, the Headlights, as i haven't understand it fully. All the other will be posted.
