Re: Exantas Skoda Fabia 5J 1.2 TSI
They are splices (not visible) inside the original wiring, so you have to do a search in the Elsawin with the terms B528, B320 to know exactly all the places/connectors-terminals that reach all the wires that attached to such junctions .
Then you choice the original terminal/wire that make it easier for you to do a new splice or crimp the new terminal/wire.
For example, in the 6R the T73b/17 LIN (B528) is also in the T28 door connector, which is an easier place than the white BCM connector (T73b) to splice a new wire that comes from the MFSW.
In many models of contact terminals it is possible to crimp two wires at the same time (it is contemplated in the crimping guides), except for those of small size such as MQS, etc, if the cable thickness is too large for these small terminals, the two wires would not enter through the connector slot.

Re: Exantas Skoda Fabia 5J 1.2 TSI
For the power cable I plan to use a terminal like this and get power from the fuse that is assigned for MFSW.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 4106825810
Now the slot is already populated, and I think it is a more practical way, than soldering down there.
For the MQS pins side, I was thinking to buy the connector pins and make my own cables with the factory theackness. But then I saw how expensive are the crimp tools for those and I can't justify the cost for 2 cables.
Although I cannot tell the cable gage for the pre terminated 000 979 009 E cables in Ali express, I believe it is going to be OK for MFSW use.

Re: Exantas Skoda Fabia 5J 1.2 TSI
000 979 009 E turns out to be 0.5 thickness cable, so it would be ok for both power and LIN

Re: Exantas Skoda Fabia 5J 1.2 TSI
Cluster swap was successful in the end.exantas wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:45 pmI have a Skoda 5J with the ugly Green IC with codewithCode: Select all
HW: 5J0 920 810 E Component: KOMBI H15 0206
And I want to change to a maxidot White one. So I bought the following USED IC
and production date of the instrument cluster 09.11.11Code: Select all
HW: 5J0 920 841 E Component: KOMBI H04 0305
I bring the instrument in "vergin mode" - zero km and zero attached keys and try to adapt on my car.
I transfer the VIN/ID, CS and PIN (Power class is not available on the old green cluster) from the old cluster to the "new" one .
I add my existing keys to the new cluster, but the instrument show a message "no key in range".
I do the process all over again but this time I try with a new blank TP24 ID48 Megamos Chip Glass. The TP24 chip is added, but I get the same message on from the IC "no key in range". I scan the chip again and it shows that now is TP23 (I have done the process twice and both times the same result)
Old cluster eeprom is 24C32 but the "new" one is 24C64. Menu functionality with trip button looks 100% functioning. Indication lamps and gages look functioning (oc I can't test Rev and speedo).
I am on a dead end and out of ideas at the moment.
Is there something that someone can propose or the project is a lost cause ?
Thank you for your time
You can swap 5J0 920 810 E cluster to a 5J0 920 841 E one.
For VIN: TMBJN25J5Bxxxxxxx you don't need to get new TP24 ID48 Megamos Chips and you don't need to do any HW changes. Only transfer the immo data from old cluster to the new one.
Cluster was upgraded to 0709 firmware.

Re: Exantas Skoda Fabia 5J 1.2 TSI
I am planning to retrofit Cruise Control in my car and I need to upgrade my 6R7937086F BCM
Is there an advantage/disadvantage to go for a 7H0937090D BCM instead of 6R7937087P if I can find them in similar price?
I don't have any plans for auto lights or direct TPMS.
I only want to do CC and MFSW retrofit.
