Plate lights. Before and After.

Before (your current installation)

After

-Remove the panels that are necessary to run the wire next/parallel to the original harness.
-Cut the indicated wires near the license plate lights inside the car (trunk/boot).
For example, look for the images of the license plate lights wire installation in this installation guide  6R RHD, page 13.

Original wiring diagram for BCM Max. Plate lights X4, X5.

Special wiring for automatic lights. (Skoda Fabia VRS 2012, 'C' Model year)

Follow the instructions on the following link to complete the installation of this wiring. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2nv91 ... sp=sharing
Note:
For this wiring installation you do not have to touch anything on the red and black connectors. These steps were done previously.

@ciclo

I am going over the notes that you have on Vasilis Fabia and I have a question:

Since the number plate lights are already connected on the tail lights, what is the benefit of moving them (power for number plate lights) on BCM vs the previous setup?

I know that if you set the parking lights, the according number plate bulb is on also (I dont really know how its called - I mean when the car is off and you put the turning signal indicator that side of lights are on).
Is it to "fix" this or without the change you have coding issues?

The modification of the license plate light wires (for BCM Max) allows:
- Appropriate management of the automatic lighting system.
- Diagnosis of the license plate lights with warnings in the IC-MFD in case of lamp failure.
- The separation of the license plate lights function from the Parking lights function for legal operation in case of using the Parking lights (P''' symbol - left stalk).
- Avoids erroneous diagnoses of the diagnostic tool.

In short, they are the correct and required conditions for license plate lights with a BCM Max installed.
Variations in coding are possible depending on the type of light/bulb used.

Apart from that, tricks in coding or adaptation(vdcs)/parameterization(vcp) are possible, but the tricks are meaningless if you have the right conditions to make it work properly.

Thanks for your answer @Ciclo

I am asking because I am just curious and not question your solution.

At least on Fabia and in theory, the number plate lights and reverse light, should continue function when upgrading to BCM Max without cable changes.

You will get error codes of course and owner should convert to expected wiring diagram for the new BCM.

It's not my solution, don't worry, it's just an 'OEM way' to do things.
