Polo 1.4 BUD engine coil pack tool

Post by coopern »

Folks,

Does anyone know if the vw tool T10094 will fit and remove the coil packs on this polo engine, 1.4 59kw, 2009, BUD.
Draper version doesn't cost much and might make the job easy-ish without causing damage. If 10094 does not fit then which
vw tool should I use?

I'd attach pic of coil packs, but don't know how.

Thanks

N

My advice would be, use the phrase "vw tool t10094a" as a search phrase in Google, you will find plenty pictures which will let you work out if it is okay for your engine.

In the past I always (carefully) used screwdrivers, two of them, to ease these COP coil assemblies out - but I eventually bought a Laser Tools kit with four different types of coil pullers, so went on to use them when changing plugs.

The Draper coil pack removal tool, equivalent to the VW one, is a good fit to the coil tops and does the job. The coil packs were very tight, due to the rubber seal I think, and I had to make a 'lever' to ease them out safely, after that they were easy to insert and remove.

Yes, the rubber seals do end up grabbing the sides of these holes! Initially, ie prior to me buying a proper tool, I used a couple of screwdrivers to ease them up.

Draper tool is number 23254. The handle is screwed to the 'claw' part which allows it to swivel.
