Hi all

My wife has a fabia VRS 130pd.
She loves.. i mean really loves this car
Its just clocked 170k and getting to the point i want to spend some money on it making everything perfect inc new cambelt, new rear calipers. then some suspension and a map

But she really wants heated seats for her back (she has back issues) and she loves a quick car

now the 1.8t is an old engine now and its not been her favorite engine in the past and most "thrilling" engine but that was n the heavier golf

so we are undecided spend 1500 on her skud, or get a 90k mile polo for around 3500 and then exhaust and map it

another Question is on the skud i fitted the white line rear antiroll bar, would this fit on the polo?

thanks.. sorry for my general ramblings
(i run a 350hp focus ST, and a 238 RX8 race car)

another quick Q is how easy is it to retro fit heated seats, ie is the wiring already there like in my focus?

I know what you mean....my wife had a 2003 Ibiza 130 PD Sport when we first got together....bar the slightly shoddy build quality and electrics absolutely loved the thing. I still miss it now and was as fun and fast as the 150 CDTi Astra SRi XP I had myself at the time.

That engine in a car so small seemed pretty bonkers at the time. VW's move from PD injection to CR made alot of sense from an environmental and refinement standpoint but there was a definite back step in performance....its only in the newer gen EA288 engines that they got their mojo back.

I'll be honest....not to poo poo the 9N3 GTI but it was never renowned for being a fantastic hot hatch; I think the Fabia was generally better received. Id personally probably spend the money on getting the Fabia straight and mapping that as the PD130's are very tunable....probably end up with similar overall performance to a mapped KO3 1.8T but with loads of torque and better MPG.....more smoke too but who cares lol

Also doubt the wiring is there for heated seats, would have to be added.

Supplying VW dealer organised upgrade to heated front seats on my 2015 SEL 110 TSI Done by mobile fitter. I paid VW dealer around £400 extra as part of overall deal. Alternative was to take car to Guildford and get the same outfit as did a friend's Jaguar; their quote to me was around £500.
