Polo match locking

Post by stephend92 »

Hi,

just joined as I have bought a 2008 polo match.

This has probably been posted 100 times but the key I got with the car isn't the original nor is it a fob for remote Central locking. I was just wondering if the match came with the central locking and the key fob?

My match had remote central locking. Yours probably does but no longer has the correct key

Alex, remember the OP is talking about a 9N3 Polo, so maybe they did not get remote central locking as standard.

Sorry, I linked the wrong brochure there. The 9N3 match had it an option but I think the runout 2008 models had it as standard. Its possible yours hasnt got the right key. It used to be one remote key one normal key.

Brilliant thanks for the help!. Also, when i push the lock button on the drivers door when inside the passenger door locks then unlocks straight away. any reason why this is?

Are you sure that it is not doing that when you use the key in the driver's side door as well?

Thats quite common when the lock has a faulty microswitch so its not in a state it believes it can lock. The fix is to replace the lock ultimately. The microswitches arent readily available for the 9N locks

Yeah it locks fine with the key. Just when you push the door button it pops back up

I asked the question but I can't give you an answer as to why that should be happening, I'd guess that pressing the "lock" button inside the car gives out a short duration pulse to the locks, whereas you turning the driver's door key lock applies a longer duration voltage change, or a stream of pulses?
