What would cause the Steering fault light to come on? Just jump started my T4 van then jumped in the Polo and no steering. Is there a fuse that controls this system? If it wasn't Bank holiday weekend I would get my local expert to look at it.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards, Brian.

Re: Power steering
Hopefully jump starting that van from your (running) Polo has forced the battery voltage down below the power steering's preferred level, I would hope that once that load had been disconnected and your Polo stopped and restarted that this fault light would go out.
If not,it could be that a voltage spike has caused an issue with the power steering controller?

Thanks RUM4O, yes it must have drained the battery on the Polo. Following morning started OK and steering fault cleared!
Happy days.
