Hi all
I have a Polo 56 plate (2006) apart from having no boot (Hatch) light either.. I would like to fit a 12v supply in the back of the hatch/boot. I'm 'told' that there is already a cable out of the wiring loom for one but I don't know which side of the rear compartment it is. I have searched and cannot find a photo of the socket in place on a Polo (any Polo) If anyone has fitted one the cable colour coding would be a big advantage. Also coming from the fuse box it will already be protected in the circuit.
Where is it (VW)12v socket, is normally situated.
I could run 'another' cable but would rather not if it's unnecessary.
any help appreciated.
Where is the rear 12v boot normally located?

Re: Where is the rear 12v boot normally located?
I'd doubt if VW laid in any spare cables of that size - or of any size as every metre of extra wire costs money.
Now and again I think about fitting a 12V socket in the boot of my wife's August 2015 Polo SEL - got the 12V socket, so I've started!
That car is now of warranty so I'm free to do as I please I suppose - thought I do have a bad history of buying bits and never fitting them.

Thanks for taking the time to reply..
Others have said they have found the wiring.. For that and the boot light (also missing in mine) I can't say whether that was for my UK model or not, though.
Is like to know where to even look
Thanks again

Perfect
That means a lot... Fitted already or by yourself?

this is the connector viewed from the catch for the folding seat
Re: Where is the rear 12v boot normally located?
Was already fitted
I would not hold out much hope of the wiring being there as I found when i went to install speakers in the rear doors there was no cable

It is still useful to know where it is sited!

You could probably pull back the grey liner and have a look see if the cables are there before you buy anything
