Alloy wheel uograde for 9n, max or best size

Hi. I have recently purchased my polo a 1.4 9n 2009 model. I dont like the wheels it has and want to upgrade. Can anyone advise whats the widest and biggest rim I could fit without have to make any modifications? I was thinking if either 205/50/16 with 7 or 7.5j rims or 205/45/17 7 or 7.5j. Can anyone advise me. Is there anywhere i can have a look at polos like mine with aftermarket alloys?
