Hey i have installed a pioneer sph-da120 radio in my vw polo 9n3 2008 1.4, however it doesnt turn off with the car it stays on all the time until the battery runs out i guess.
I have search on the internet for it but i cant seem to find it, can any one suggest something? i tried swapping the red and yellow wires.

Re: Radio doesnt switch off with the ignition
hi.
I had the same problem once and took me ages to find the solution.
Basically my english isnt amazing.
when i fitted a aftermarket stereo i noticed the same problem.
On the stereos wire harness there is a yellow wire and a red wire. you need to switch them around. so its yellow/red for both.
I believe on my 2002-2005 polo i also blew the fuse as i made the wires touch. my adapter from pioneer had rubber around them.

check your fuse box on your drivers side.
Fuse number - F10 (5A)S-contact
so yours currently should be yellow to yellow and red to red.
make it odd so yellow to red.
one is ignition wire which once key is removed would cut power to stereo. other is 12v power.
Let me know how you get on.
