Hi,
First post, had a poke around but cant find an obvious answer so hoping for some collective wisdom.....
Bought my daughter a Polo 1.2, 58 plate, 100k miles as her first car when she last her test. It's been well looked after with good history file and only 2 owners.
Shes had it about 4 months now so the 3 month used car warranty has expired (unlikely worth the paper its written on anyway, lol).
Last week the EPC light came on, but everything still worked fine....then a few days later EPC and limp home mode. Generally turning it off and on would clear the error. It's been stood for a couple of weeks until yesterday, fired it up and EPC came on, restarted and it went off....drove for 15 mins, it came back on and the car lost all power and eventually died. Reset again and got into the Supermarket carpark no issues.
Did an hours shopping, came out, drove 20 minutes home, no EPC and all fine. Came out today, starts, EPC light on dies straight away....no amount of resets helping.
2 questions really.....while I'm trying to dig out my ODB2 reader from wherever I hidden it and hoping its compatible is there anything obvious it sounds like (I know EPC can be a nightmare).
Secondly, any decent VW specialist mobile mechanics anyone can recommend around Preston, Lancashire?
All help gratefully received, it's a fab little car otherwise and were made up with it, just need to get over this hiccup.....

The ODB2 reports...
P0121 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/switch A circuit range/performance problem.
P0221 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/switch B circuit range/performance problem.
So I'm assuming clean/replace TPS?

Well at least both codes, according to your description do point to the TPS, I'm sure that I've read about people having success with cleaning them, maybe search using that topic and see what pops up?

Ta, I'll have another search around. If I can be sure it's that I'll get it replaced then it eliminates reoccurrence later.

I’ve heard of some with broken wires on the loom to the TPS due to the heat of the area it runs through. Have a good look over them
