Hi all,

I'm new to the forums and I just purchased my first polo gti this week. I am the proud owner of a 2006 9n3 polo gti.

I was cleaning my car today and getting it up to my standards as you usually would, and i found somthing in the engine bay which
Is connected to the air box and the top of the engine, that moves arround quite a bit. Surely it wouldn't of left vw like this new back in the day,
Has somthing broke?

Please see the link to a video I have uploaded to YouTube: https://youtu.be/emPnz0kk9no

Is this normal? Or do you know how to secure it?

Many thanks guys and galls

Kieran

Looks like it's actually desinged to move/dampen vibrations of the engine?

From what I can see it has 3 rubber feet to stop it from hitting the metal bracket it's resting on 🤔.
Just I've never seen somthing like this before, for the weight it moves round allot.

[POSSIBLY FIXED?]

Good news! I just was chatting to an old freind of mine who is a mechanic. He said that the item that is loose is the secondary air pump for the engine, the reason it is loose is because the rubber mounts that hold it in place have a habit of perishing, this caused the pump to fall and rattle arround.

The parts needed to fix it are 3 threaded rubber bushes. Part number 037133567F Which I shall order from tps tommorow.

Looks like I have a job for Sunday morning.
