perhaps you need to connect the red wire to an iginition live wire. but it's a bit of a guess.

i'd check all the wires of the radio according to the manual and see what comes up. i'm seeing a lot of loose, unlabeled wires so unsure what to do.

I did this a few years ago but I cant remember 100% exactly what wire is which.

The 9N3 doesn't have a switched power cable to the radio that provides constant power when the ignition/accessory is on as far as I know. You'll possibly need a canbus emulator (£10 or so) if you don't already have one. Orange/black is CAN+, orange/brown is CAN-, brown is GND, the yellow/red adjacent to the brown wire is the safe wire constant 12v (for factory radio code) and the other yellow/red is supposedly also constant 12v. The black/red may be switched 12v, but I don't think it is that simple hence the need for a canbus emulator. Best to just get a multimeter and see what wire does what when you turn the ignition on/off. If you also need an illumination wire (since that definitely uses canbus) then you can tap into the 12v accessory illumination behind the gearstick.

i got it sorted today, the illumination cable i didn't need so i tied that up and found a "hole" on the actual power adapter that had a point where it had no power when the ignition switched off. Used a multimeter for this and it works a treat. The actual stereo headunit is perfect for anyone new who would like a good one that's decently priced (£99.97). Only issue with this unit now is dont buy the cages from halfords because they're absolute trash and don't fit the unit properly. Thanks for the help, really helped me out.

hey Matt, think I have same issue as you and same wiring loom (from dynamic sounds)

which fuse number did you tap into in the fuse box? Did you only connect the red wire in there?

Ive connected my headunit all up with the looms/ connectors etc and thats all fine, but cant locate where to connect the red wire to in the fuse box so it turns on and off with ignition
