help new polo owner door issues!

Post by phil peak »

Hi,
I am just about to inherit a 91 breadvan gt and there are a few bits to fettle.
The biggest issue is the quarter light pillar on the drivers door is rusted quite badly inside and looks shocking. The rest of the door seems sound so would like to repair it rather than replace it as and trying to replace the whole door seems a hassle, no calypso green ones out there and a respray appears to be big money. Any hints or similar experiences?

From memory, (about 5 years ago - so apologies if this is twaddle!) that pillar bolts on. That's how you get the quarter light glass out... Whip the doorcard off and have a look. Then either refurb, or get one off another door.
