DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
Save money on tyres and also to make sure the tread is in the arches.
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
205 on 8" rims isn't really a stretch and inside of Toyos recommendations for maximum rim width.
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
The same reason why people but 195's on to 8/9 inch wheels, but don't think it would suit the polo and 215 is far enough, do you get rubbing on the back auspolo or just the front when turning?
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
Makes sense, but if the tyres are stretched on do they not have a tendency to pop off the rim? How does it affect handling too? I can't expect it to be in a good way. Presumably your insurance is invalid if you have tyres that aren't rated for your wheels too?benmkiv wrote:Save money on tyres and also to make sure the tread is in the arches.
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
i can get full lock without rubbing but the front rubs somewhere if i hit a bump too fastStugolf1 wrote:do you get rubbing on the back auspolo or just the front when turning?
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
I concur with the above. My set up is 18x7.5 ET48 (3 mm spacers) 225/35 with H&R 25/40 springs...and very rarely do I get any rubbing...maybe on a hard turn or with a slightly deflated tyre.auspolo wrote:definitive answer: yes they will rub...a lotStugolf1 wrote:Cheers for the help guys, I'm confused now, some people say 18" and 8" width with an offset of 35 will fit with 35/55mm springs and some say it will rub, does anyone have a definitive answer?
mine are 18x8 ET35, 225/35 and 25/40 H&Rs and the front rubs a bit if i'm not careful
If you want to drive spiritedly, avoid the 35/55 springs ...because you will absolutely get rubbing with 18x8 ET35 and anyone who states otherwise is dreaming.
Re: DO LM's suit a GTI Polo
Sorry for that old repost but I am after a set of 18x8 ET35 wheels with 225/35 tires. If I am using stock 6R GTI springs will them fit with no rubbings then?nodoze wrote: ↑Wed Mar 14, 2012 2:58 amI concur with the above.
