Polo Blue GT

Post by Norbreck21a »

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet. Was in the dealer over the weekend and noticed a really nice Polo sitting in the corning. Turns out it was the new Polo Blue GT. It comes with the new 1.4 TSI 140bhp Turbocharged engine with 2 cylinder deactivation and full Bluemotion technology. Brilliant fuel economy with a combined of over 60mpg (Diesel like economy). Top speed over 130mph and 0-62 in 8.9 seconds. maybe an alternative to those who a) can't quite afford a GTi, b) don't want a GTi (or like me don't liek the alloys - sorry), c) can't afford the insurance and d) want a manual version over DSG.

Comes with a full body kit, 17" mulitspoke alloys, 3 or 5 door configurations. Twin exhaust pipes, special sports seats in Blue GT trim, High line dash with separate Fuel and temp gauges (like the Gti), Lowered sports suspension, and a really nice Blue Silk paint option (see photos below). Available now from £17,400 (2k less than a GTi with much lower road tax (Band B i.e. £20 per year) and lower insurance, and of course economical as well. Should be a very good seller.

Yeah i seen one of these stunning cars pricey but with the kit on it worth it! only problem i did a insurance quote for a GTI being 19 about 3000 which is not bad for me did a quote for a BlueGT £7000!! no idea why the huge hike might be due to the engine?

Nice bit of kit this for sure, still think I'd go for a used GTI over it though ;)

I'm finding the BlueGT strangely tempting. Specced this up on OrangeWheels:

I really can't wait for the BlueGT to be released in Denmark...

I'm really looking forward to drive it. :)

But I'm a bit affraid that there's a big chance I Want one afterwards...
I have tried the Golf mk 7 with the same engine (without ACT though. That's not available on the Golf until later this year) and it's i very nice engine. Really responsive. Even though we were 4 adults in the car.

I can only imagine it's gonna perform even better in a smaller, lighter car like the Polo. :)
And even better... VW is going back to drivebelts instead of chains. So no more worries about stretched chains and smashed up engines. :)

I wonder what the real-life MPG is though.... I can't help thinking that I wouldn't let it get anywhere near the 60mpg VW claim :D

Shame that I've got 5 years of med school before I can get anywhere near something like a BlueGT!

ordered a blue more door Blue GT with the anthracite wheels today and a few options including xenons as my new daily driver (replacing my 500TA)

really liked this last year when i sat in one at the VW Boutique in Berlin and a bit more frugal than my Edition 35

rare cars so mines a factory order which should be here around the beginning of May

drove a R-Line a week ago and absolutely loved it
