New mod:
Note that my vw polo is with the steering wheel on the left.
System passenger airbag deactivation.
Scheme.
Vw parts.
In the scheme are indicated references.
We need to change the unit of airbags because these can only be encoded when they are first installed. In addition, these units are prepared in vw specifically for our vehicle. We must provide the VIN number in order to purchase. I specified that had made the installation of the system OEM passenger airbag deactivation.
We need the ETKA and PR codes for airbag unit.

http://prsearch.planetvag.com/
With these links we can know that airbag control unit corresponds with our vw polo for deactivation system.
For my airbag system is this:
My new airbag unit.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove all necessary parts.
http://volkswagen.workshop-manuals.com/
Electric wiring:
Use cable ties and cloth tape to secure the wiring.
The crimping of red faston is the remote system. When I installed the garage opening system had no contacts oem.
Very important.
Before inserting the necessary contacts in the connector T50 must be removed a small rubber bands that are in the holes where it enters the contact.
An image with the numbering in the airbag unit.
Install airbag unit.

Finally connect the positive.
Connect the battery. And will light airbag. Depending on the type of instrument cluster ...
Vcds coding:

With the vcds 11.3.3 gives us the long coding.
I started using the suggested code but I did not do it because me suggested it was wrong.
I wrote the code with the keyboard.
I knew the code because I asked on the forums for users who have the same airbag system than mine but with the system passenger airbag deactivation.
After watching several autoscan I had the correct code.
I wrote the 00314D and clikc on do it. Came a message introducing the WSC. I wrote. The airbag light on the instrument panel went out. Tested the system, everything works perfectly.
Install all removed.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
Absolutely right.
I recommend putting the feston led.
The color I bought is exactly equal to the standard xenon. And the brightness is accurate, neither too much nor little as the standard.
The images of the tutorial is not good. It actually looks better.
The standard is 29mm festoon but I bought a 31 mm because I wanted exactly that. It fits perfectly.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
Got to hand it too you, a new airbag module just to get the passenger airbag deactivation switch installed
So glad I speeced that on the wife's car for only £45.00
Deffo got to do the Glovebox mod as well. Sorry to sound a bit stupid ciclo, but the dimensions for the cut out for the glovebox light, I assume it's 43.5mm long by 24.5mm deep (just want to double check).
Also, when it comes to adding fuse to the fusebox, do I assume that with the battery disconnected, you just undo the 2 screws either side of the fuse box, lower the unit, then you get access to the back and can just insert the repair wires straight in the vacant slots ?

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
In Spain when I bought the R-LINE was not available the option of deactivating the passenger airbag.
The question for me was: Is it possible to install as original equipment? It was a good experience for me.
45 lbs is a good price. Buy it.
The measures for the hole of the lamp light. Length 43.5 mm Width 24.5 mm. Not sounds stupid, better to be sure before cutting.
The fuse box. Once removed the two screws you take out the fuse box (out with difficulty, gradually guide to remove it). On the back has a cover, is removed by sliding the opposite side of the wiring.
Not all vacant slots have electric current, I took the power sunroof terminal (30A, my car has no sunroof). In this vacant slots I put a 10A fuse
My installation:
You can see the results in previous post.
If you do not want to remove the fuse box, you can take positive quadlock radio connector (pin 15 and 16) and put a fuse holder 1-2A next to the lamp connector. 5w / 12 v = 0.42 Amp
For ground if you look in the tutorial on the image of the cable length can see a perfect hole in the metal structure.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
My upcoming mods:
OEM Rear footwell lights and second light in the trunk.
Already I have finished but I am lost for LED bulbs, I made an order that never arrived and now I have to wait another 15 days for the resend me.
When LED bulbs arrive, I will post here the tutorial and the result.
I think it will be very interesting ... the installation of all parts of the rear footwell lights is made with original equipment audi, vw, skoda, seat ... without making holes.
The key is to: (little preview)
The second trunk light is easy, make symmetrical hole and wiring from the other light.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
Do the footwell lights come on depending on which door is opened? My mum's A6 has footwell lights that will only light up for the individual door (so if you open the rear left door, the rear left footwell light comes on, but the other lights do not).

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
I understand what you mean, I've seen it in other audi.
I have not done so, when I open any door all lights are activated. I'll post soon.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
For mattymdm:
These are all possible. Belong to the Golf VI. I chose the reference that ends in the letter R, at that time was what suited me fine.
There is also the webasto (auxiliary heating) beige connector.
I do not know what is good for DAB. You'll have to disassemble your rod antenna to know which is the good (in the event that DAB is in the rod antenna, I do not know).
In any case, I'll leave you here my little botched . Everything works perfectly, no faults with vcds and good radio signal.
Also I installed a GPS aerial inside.

Re: New Member. R-line 1.2 TSI 90hp 119gr.
Sorry to hijack the thread but an easier to fit shark fin is this.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Newest-design ... 4174aeab23
Took about 2 weeks to come from China and is a decent fit. Simply unscrew the factory standard ariel, leaving the base intact. Screw in the cable for the fin and it sticks over the top or the existing base. No need for trim removal or wiring and with a little heat & patience will be removable. I've not seen any loss in signal on FM or DAB but I'm in a decent reception area. The seller was a decent chap checking with me what colour I wanted before despatching. Will post up pics when I can.
