Also a like to where you bought the woofer would be great too. If this is a easy install we definatly be doing it!

Here is the PDF Manual , you are interested in the first few pages for the diagrams pictures, then pages 17-20 are in English installation instructions http://freepdfhosting.com/cf1d079bdb.pdf

I bought the unit from a German VAG seller on ebay - here it is http://www.ebay.de/itm/Volkswagen-Plug- ... 35cb8f959e The unit arrived in literally 2 days from Germany!

Hope this helps for now, I can take more pics of my installation, but i'm not really wanting to take the headunit out again!

As far as hiding the cable, it is easy, there are rails down the side of the car, you just pop the cover off & done. Also didn't have to take glovebox out or anything, very easy instillation if you have the right tools.

My Shadow Blue GTI

Cheers :-). Is it easy enough to clip all in interior back into place and get the carpet looking like it's not been touched?

Car got a full wash and wax this weekend,
Best wheel cleaner I have ever used.

Spray it on it goes purple where there is brake dust and lifts it off, then just rub if required then rinse.

It looked amazing for the first few miles!!

Sub goes in spare wheel well under false floor and is screwed in using the spare wheel holding down plastic nut

You wouldn't know there was a sub there

The cable then goes on base of boot, under rear seat. (The amp screws into the base of the sub btw)

Image

Once there it goes into the passenger side sill area. (the plastic lid pops off and the cable is laid in the channel) very easy just a couple of clips, no ripping up carpets.

I then opened the little 'hi vis hatch' door shown in photo above and fed it up under the glove box and into the rear of the stereo.

I then got the manual I uploaded earlier and followed the instructions to plug the wires in the correct places in the back of head unit.

Then i put on some Rock n roll and turned the volume right up to test.

Thanks for that. I thought this might have some more detail/info, but see it is the same as in the box. Hope it all makes sense once I pull the glove box out...

How is the 1.4 TSI engine, i heard they were problematic with timing chains, oil consumption etc

Is yours still going ok?
