These direct-injected cars have a fuel system that is much more like a diesel engine than older petrols. The injectors fire directly into the cylinder, rather than the intake port, and they are at a much higher pressure than the normal injectors in regular multi-point injection (like the NA petrol engines). Quite a few of them tick at idle- it's a side effect of the more efficient injection system. You don't hear it on the move or at higher RPM because the engine noise drowns it out. The older PD TDIs used to be able to make a really distinctive tick when you were putting just enough pressure on the throttle to fire the injectors, but not enough to make much in the way of engine noise.

However, if it's making more noise than before, then check against another car with the 1.2 TSI engine, in case something is going wrong.

There also seems to be a strange ticking/vibrating noise (That I can hear from the interior) when I take my foot of the accelerator between about 32mph and 28mpg (and then also again at a much lower speed).
Any further thoughts?

Dunno- the old TDIs did just that, but not having driven a 1.2 TSI Polo I've no idea! It's probably worth going and test-driving one, to see if it does it too.

Its only done 7k miles from new so its not due for a while.

I've also noticed that there is a ticking between certain speeds when the vehicle is in motion too.

This is weird.

Just run it into the dealers if you have any concerns and let them have a listen.

I've not heard that extra noise on my wife's 2015 1.2TSI 110PS Polo 6MT, I think that you should try to locate its source in case it is just something external to the engine rattling/touching something solid. If you find that that is not the case, then maybe remove the top cover section from the cambelt area and check to make sure that there is no oil leaking from the inlet cam variable timing pulley.

Edit:- checking if it is the turbo linkage might not be a smart move as that area will be very hot!

Reference your noise, mine seems to be doing the exact same thing,

Noise is happening in idle, sounds like a rattling and is an on/off noise that goes if I dip the clutch.

I took it to a garage, they suggested the release bearing, took it to another, they said the same, so I got the clutch done TODAY and low and behold, noise is still there.

Had the timing belt done in august so it is not that that either.

Really really annoyed that i spent money on getting the clutch done

Your engine is the earlier 1.2TSI 8V with chain driven camshaft, Martin999's has the later 1.2TSI 16V with a belt driven camshaft, so most of the engine is different except for the capacity.

No doubt that garage would say "yes it still has that noise, but the other noise(which you didn't hear or comment on) has now gone" - I'd be more than slightly annoyed if that happened to me.

Update,

Car is till making the same noise, getting louder now. Think the best thing to do is just let it finally fail and then I will finally know the problem.

Otherwise i feel I am just throwing good money after bad if you get what I mean,

I do wonder if it may be the water pump, does anyone know if the water pump runs off the cam on this car? When i had the belt changed they told me it runs separate to the cam so doesnt need doing at the same time (although it is usually good practice)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, starting to go mad and as you can imagine the money is somewhat tight this time of year
