Re: 6R Cruise Control Retrofit Problems

Post by BARBUDO »

I was ready to buy the lever and start the retrofit, but the vcds seller told me that since 2016, most of the modules are activated online and an incorrect coding could block even the vehicle (abs) and should i go to a dealership to Fix it $$$, once blocked it will not let me put the previous code. I was going to buy a Chinese VCDS clone, and now I do not know what to do. In fact I have seen that the Chinese VCDS do not work well, also told me that LONG CODING HELPER probably would not work because the vehicle is very new and due to the online coding there is no information about the modules, the same thing would be with a original vcds. The seller left me quite scared, here an original vcds cost around 1000 usd, and the stalk about 300usd. Too much money to screw up. And Ciclo, that function you mentioned about is the first speed level of the wiper, in fact the picture you posted is exact the same as my lever.

Original vcds starts at $199 + taxes
https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/

If you're a bit handy, maybe you'll get away with replacing just the left stalk from a used one, i.e. here from Europe

Buy the VCDS cable, buy the stalks, your CCS will work perfectly with my help. :)

So that position is for sweep intervals, is it correct?

ciclo that's right, it's for sweep intervals. Mine does not have the small switch that looks like a potentiometer, i'm looking at elsawin trying to understand the wiring diagram. Is there any difference? another relay, wire etc ??

There are no differences related to the wiring diagrams, the difference is in the stalk only. (electronic internal parts)

Your current stalk has the sweep interval adjusted to a fixed time and the new stalk you want to install can vary the sweep interval time depending on the small toggle/lever position. (4 positions)

In case of having the rain sensor installed, these 4 positions will indicate to the rain sensor its rain sensitivity via BCM, shortening or lengthening the sweep interval automatically. 8)

Therefore, it is not necessary to add any additional wire in your Saveiro Cross for this reason. Everything is OK in your factory wiring.

Ciclo first at all, thanks for all the support you are giving to me. The VCDS is coming, and also the crimper and the terminals N 907 647 01 (for BCM t73 conector, and the t41 conector). In my next posts i'll update whit the autoscan. I have practically understood the whole process of what I have to do, but I have some doubts. First what's the difference between BFM and BCM? The elsawin's diagrams do reference to three connectors t73 (t73a, t73b and t73c) and my BCM (089) only has two connectors A and B, but only mentions t73a in the diagrams when it refers to BFM, and only for vehicles with BFM. In vehicles with BCM says t73b and t73c, which i suppose is t73b is conector A in my BCM, and t73c is conector B in my BCM, becouse in that case the diagrams of POLO are exact the same as mine, thing that is 99% probably. The only difference is that in my case there is not a Diode.
Another doubt i have is what terminal i have to buy for the ECU wire . The ECU is Continental for CNXA engine, article 04E906032, t121 connector. Again, thanks for all the support

BFM http://images.tcdn.com.br/img/img_prod/ ... 100511.jpg

BCM http://images.tcdn.com.br/img/img_prod/ ... 103231.jpg

Different Electrical Switchboards (09 Cent Elect) that fulfill similar mission in PQ25 platform.
The BFM is a lower level to understand us, but it is very useful when it is necessary to outsource the management of some equipments for its compatibility. Door modules, for example.
It's a good VW solution. 8)

100%

BFM = 1 connector T73a in diagrams
BCM = 2 connectors T73b , T73c in diagrams, being in this case T73b 'A' black connector and T73c 'B' white connector. So simple as that.

It is the logical way of naming the connectors when two different electrical switchboards are used for the same VW model. 8)
BARBUDO wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:34 pm The only difference is that in my case there is not a Diode.
With the new software in BCM/BFM and electrical installations (201X?-->) such diode is not necessary. No problem regarding this. 8)

T81 connector

Autoscan... some modules don't appear in autoscan i don't know why, 09 CENTRAL ELEC allow long coding helper whit all the information for each bit. 01 ENGINE do not show the information of each bit in long coding helper.

It seems that you have selected an Old model that your current one to make the autoscan ...

Image

But it's better to select the auto-detect (CAN only) and click en Start button.... and you will get all the installed units.

Forget the Long coding helper, it's not necessary.

When making an VCDS autoscan, the first thing you always have to do before clicking on the Start button is Clear all DTC's to avoid writing sporadic and intermittent faults. In this way only permanent faults will be present. (in your case, all faults should disappear)

So:
- Click on the Gateway Installation List. You'll get the units with their status (OK, malfunction, can't be reached).
- Click on Clear all DTCs in case of any malfunction. (Twice if necessary)

- With Auto-detect (CAN only) selected click on Start to scan all the units.
- Save.

There are still missing units Image , have you selected Auto-detect?

Autoscan with auto-detect and DTCs codes cleared. Now i'm very enthusiastic, yesterday i could code the 56 - Radio module. Two months ago i purchased an original VW radio (rcd340) from another car, and everytime i put reverse, the radio said the camera is not installed, because the radio was installed originally in a VW whit rear view camera. I unchecked whit VCDS the bit, and now the message dissapeared. Now CCS i go for you.

Let's go for it!
You must be very precise with the CCS wiring manufacture and installation, the crimp of the MQS and ECU terminals must be perfect so that they can be inserted with total precision into the connectors. 70% of the success in this installation depends on it.
You can take these images as a reference.

Keep us informed.
