I actually expected it to be larger and was a bit surprised by how small it is.

Do we need it to be really at the front of the vehicle? inside interior cabin will not be good? what if in the plenum area within the wiper motor?

I don't know to be honest. I've studied the mounting points on the audis that have the system and they all have it behind the front bumper or grille.
I guess the best location is one with no metal between the receiver and the antenna.

I think the antenna (emitter) in the Audi is installed outside due to how some windshields are built for them (materials).
They can hinder the emission of signals.

So, the roof lights are installed and the wiring is in.
and of course it doesn't work

I can go into learning mode by pressing 1 and 3, to clear all previous remotes
Then you press 1, 2 or 3, to match a remote. light goes into slow blinking.
Then you hold the remote in front of the antenna and push the open button. i've done this for about 5 minutes but then the modules goes into 'nope' mode and ends the learning process because the time is over.

changed the antenna to give it a try with the second one, no luck there

repeated this a few times, no success.
i'm guessing the garage door in my apartment complex isn't compatible or uses a rolling code instead of a fixed code.

There are normally two frequencies used on garage door systems... 433MHz and 868MHz.
The Audi system probably is able to copy from 280 to 868mhz but you never know.... :?:

I've already bought various remotes to copy my current one, and was never able... Maybe they have a protection... I don't know...

Yeah I'll have to investigate a bit further... My garage is supposed to be 433 MHz. That's written on the remote.
But I cannot find the manufacturer of our garage door system. It only has these 'annoying' installed by $company with a huge ass Swiss flag on it.
Not very useful :|

Bought the first Polo AW part for my 6R... 2Q0953521

in follow up to the previous post, why the hell would crazy iichel remove CC from the stalks?
simple, move buttons the the MF steering wheel:

I'll write a lot more info later, I didn't do this by myself, not by any means and it's a bit more complicated as you'd expect.

Bought myself a gift for the coming winter.
I'm selling my 16" OEM steels with the golf caps, even though I liked them a lot, I'll be driving alloys next winter.

Starting a bit of an experimental but 'safe' mod: OEM seat heating in the rear seats.
I'm not sure yet how to put some heated mats in the rear seats, but I'll figure that out.
Also, need to think of a clever way to find a way to mount the buttons in the rear.

The first step is here, the wiring and the control module...
Sorry for the dark photos, it's a bit... well... dark in my parking garage and the battery was low, so no flash

The wiring is the same as the OEM wiring for the heated seats in the front.
- power from terminal 75
- GND to GND on the gearstick
- OEM 6R0959772D module
- switches 6R0963564B and 6RO963563B OR 6C0963564 and 6CO963563
- wire to BCM T73a/36
- wire to illumination terminal 58d

I think the Skoda Rapid (PQ25) has the heated rear seats. Check ETKA.

Yes, I considered this option as well since the armrest and armrest mount of the Rapid and Polo are identical. Then I'd need
- switches 5JA963105 5JA963106
- Panel 5JA863617A 9B9
- Covers 5JA864279 and 5JA864280

but dealer cannot sell these somehow.
