Why not ask for some help in the public forum? If it helps you, it might help someone else as well.

The ACC doesn't work (yet) and I don't expect it will since the engine is unable to handle it.
I have not kept track of the costs because it's not do-able. The biggest cost is without a doubt the time spent.
And I would just get a bit depressed.... it's a lot of money :P

Now it's still leaking a bit of oil that is caught in a plastic bag. Not the most ideal solution I suppose.

I think the Polo Sedan nowadays has the electromechanical system as well by the way.
They come with a 6RF system or 1S (VW Up!) system.
i.e. https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=71394, https://uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=69603, http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread. ... rod-values

The feeling is rather different and I must say, and maybe it's a placebo effect, that it's better.
It feels a lot more direct and it's nice to be able to set the power steering in 20% steps.
I now have it on 'dynamic' opposed to comfort and 80% so it feels a bit heavier. This makes it feel a bit more prone to feedback.

I don't feel like it's a world of difference, but it's a nice additon.
Hi iichel,
You have done so many mods about which i dream. Great work.
I have skoda rapid indian version. Which is just an rebadged polo sedan. It has electro mechanical steering, manual ac and only driver side airbag.

How can we set 20% step for power steeeing?

Also i am trying to install climatronic in my car. My mechanic friend have another same car with climateonic which he is scrapping. I had planned to swap entire wiring harness from that car to my car. But now its not possible. That wiring harness is missing some wiring coonecting to engine, someone stolen it. Can i retrofit climatronic without changing full wiring harness?. That scrap car has all the parts related to climatrnic also has wiring related to climatronic which i can use :) .

One purpose was changing wiring harness was to get passenger airbag installed. Few days back i had one full wiring harness in which i tried to figure out connection from aibag module to second airbag. I saw few airbag wires going into engine bay also, But didnt found how, why and from where these wires was going. So left the thought of making wiring for passenger airbag. I have already bought airbag module which supports passenger airbag.

Thank you for your nice words. I'll try to answer your questions with Polo 6R in mind.

The power steering can be set in the adaptation channels of my unit. You can set it to comfort or dynamic and you can set the power steering assist in 20% intervals.

About the climatronic, I think you'll need to swap the heater housing, that's a lot of work.
Furthermore, the wiring loom for the sensors and motors for the flaps, that loom is a seperate one.

You'll need to remove the current connector that provides the power and CAN to the panel and replace it with another connector.
I'm not sure the pin layout is exactly the same as on a Polo 6R.
So:
- Remove old connector (cut off the wires)
- Connect the wires to the new connector, with the appropriate pin layout
- Add wires to the sun penetration sensor
- Add wires to the fan regulator resistor

So you don't need the full loom, just:
- 16-pin connector for climatronic
- 6-pin connector for the fan resistor
- 4-pin connector for the sunlight sensor

I guess your car already has airconditioning? If not, things will get a lot more complicated...

About adding a passenger airbag, I cannot advise you on that. I'm sorry. It's a risky undertaking that should be performed by experts only.

YES

Hey, with Michel's great help, I managed to change the air conditioning. I'm currently writing a guide, I have a lot of photos and I struggled a little with my air conditioning, I will be happy to help you ;-)

Thanks for help iichel and cnk.

Is it possible for you to share pinout for manual and climatronic ac? Pin layout of polo 6r and my car is exactly same, my car is made by volkswagen in volkswagen factory, but skoda just sell it. If you can share pinouts for ac and and other supporting parts it will be great help for me.

My car already has ac.

Look what I found! 6RU windscreen with heating! 6RU 845 011J NVB, to finish the Super WInter Pack retrofit:
- Heated windscreen
- Heated washer jets
- Headlight washers
- Heated front seats
- Heated rear seats
- RHLS for automatic defogging
- Auxillary heater for climatronic

Image

Conveniently, my windscreen was removed as well!

Gifted myself one of these as well... (RLHS, BCM byte 8 bit 5 --> 1

Belated happy birthday iichel!
I am sure you must have planned some more goodies for your 6R as a return gift.

Best wishes.
