Re: Polo LED headlights
Ah, I've just looked at them and it is only the DRL that are LED and not the main/dip beam - looks like the dip beam is HID.
Re: Polo LED headlights
yes just the DRL would be LED which is what im after. They look very OEM and wondering if they would work straight out of the box. they come with 2 adapter harnesses and 2 different fuses, i wonder if Ciclo can help me out ?

Re: Polo LED headlights
Have you bought them and installed them?
Re: Polo LED headlights
Hey,
Do you know what I need to retrofit full LED headlights from Polo 6C?
I mean this headlights:
I know that this is possible because I saw this 6C headlights in the Polo 6R on: https://www.facebook.com/page.AUTODC/po ... 1765191800
https://www.facebook.com/page.AUTODC/ph ... =3&theater
Do full LED headlights are better or worse than xenon headlights?
Regards!

Re: Polo LED headlights
Yes it is possible. I've done it a few weeks ago.
You will need a new BCM, a lot of wiring and some headlights. It's a lot of work, and I'm not sure they are a lot better than the OEM xenons. Nobody really knows.

Re: Polo LED headlights
Quote:- "are LED headlights better or worse than HIDs?"
Well, I've had two cars with factory fitted HIDs and they were very good. My wife's new Polo has LED headlights and they are okay, I think that HID headlights will disappear as these LED headlights are the way forward especially as far as energy usage is concerned, which suits Stop/Start systems.
Are they better or worse than HIDs? One thing that I've noticed is that because of their design, the "shape" of the headlight "envelope" can be better controlled and so at least the Polo ones get the headlight beams extended as far as the other side of a normal road, maybe on full brightness - which must be an improvement over conventional lighting systems which just tend to have the edge of the weaker part of the beam reaching the other side of the normal width road - I'd like to say that they are as good as HID - that is comparing them with factory fitted HID headlights.

Thanks!iichel wrote:Yes it is possible. I've done it a few weeks ago.
I know, that I have to change my BCM, but could you tell me if retrofit LED headlights is harder than normal OEM Xenons?

Re: Polo LED headlights
Not a lot harder no
Re: Polo LED headlights
Thanks, so I have to start looking for a used headlights in good conditioniichel wrote:Not a lot harder no
but..
iichel wrote:well the LED headlights have a 14-pin connector and automatic headlight range control so I suspect that it's not a straight swap
You solved this problem?iichel wrote:what is sort-of working:
- flash high beam (both dipped and high beam come on)
what is not working:
- dimmed LED for parking lights
- dipped beam (does not go on)
- high beam (dash warning light comes on)
what will have to be changed:
- static cornering light goes to the front fog light
so to find out:
what does the pin T14/14 do? the color is red/white suggesting its a 12V wire terminal 30.
Do you have a BCM 7H0 or 7E0?

Re: Polo LED headlights
I have the 7E0 and it is working perfectly. I did not do it all by myself, I had some help with it.

I am retrofitting my Polo 6C OEM Halogen headlights to 6C LED Headlights.
I have problem the DRL is not working. City Lights, Low beam and High beam works well.
My BCM is 6RU 937 087 M. Does it support for DRL?
I bought 6C0 937 089 B dunno whether it will solve my problem or not.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Polo LED headlights
I am not familiar with 6C bcm coding. We did it with the 7E0 BCM from the transporter in the Polo 6R. You have the Polo 6C which is completely different.
