Insuring your Blue GT

Post by Ricmondo »

I've just had the renewal notice for my insurance having enjoyed a free year from Herr Volkswagen. The renewal premium was £511. The same company quoted £400 for a similar level of cover on Money Supermarket. That did not surprise me but it did annoy, I returned to my previous insurer (LV) who have given me good service for over fifty years, they are now covering me with a number of tasty add ons for a little over £300 with a Greater London Postcode.

How much are you fellow BGT drivers having to shell out for fully comprehensive cover?

Impressive, they wanted around £400 on Money Supermarket without add ons, geography is a big cost push, roughly what part of the world are you in?

A very nice place to live until they pounced up the Fiddlers on Grass Market.

Ironically I'm near to the point of insuring mine and I'm currently buying a house. My insurance at my current flat is £700 a year right in the middle of Lostock Hall near Preston. It's a busy road and the car is parked on the road apparently, because our car park doesn't have allocated spaces (yet it's locked, go figure). Moving house saves me £300 on my car insurance and that's just the average quote....

and before you ask, I've only 6 years no claims hence my insurance cost!

£900 fully comp, 3 years driving 2 years no claims.. I'm 21 though...

Had to change insurers for this car as Zurich wouldn't insure until I was 21, but Hastings say I'll get my third years no claims in May :)
